What if circularity wasn't an afterthought, but the starting point?

What if your next backpack, travel bag or outdoor product was designed for recycling before it was even made?
Imagine a backpack that has travelled the world. A travel bag that has accompanied countless journeys. Outdoor equipment that has performed reliably through years of demanding conditions.

Now imagine that, at the end of its useful life, the fabric could become a valuable raw material again.

For decades, the textile industry has relied on combining different materials, coatings and adhesives to achieve the performance required for technical fabrics. While these combinations can provide strength, protection and durability, they often create a significant challenge when it comes to recycling.

Once different polymers are permanently bonded together, separating them can be difficult, expensive or simply impractical.

But what if we could rethink the way technical fabrics are designed altogether?
What if circularity started with the material itself? Meet Rivercyclon® Outdoor, Travel & Sports Fabrics.
Instead of trying to solve recycling challenges afterwards, Rivercyclon® takes a fundamentally different approach.
Its circularity is built into the material from the beginning.

The secret lies in its mono-polymer construction, made entirely from polypropylene (PP).
Both the base fabric and the coating are made from compatible polypropylene materials, creating a technical fabric that combines performance with a simpler route to recycling.

Not just a fabric designed to perform. A fabric designed to come back.

What if one polymer could change everything?
Traditional coated fabrics often combine different polymers that are difficult to separate at the end of their useful life.
Rivercyclon® takes another route.
By using polypropylene throughout its construction, Rivercyclon® eliminates the need to separate incompatible polymer layers before mechanical recycling.

And there's more.
Polypropylene is one of the world's most widely used thermoplastics and is already mechanically recycled across numerous industries.
This makes PP a practical starting point for circular material design, offering opportunities to recover and reuse valuable resources rather than treating them as waste.

Because designing materials for recycling is the first step towards giving them a new purpose.

What if strong adhesion didn't require adhesives?
In conventional coated fabrics, additional adhesive layers or bonding agents may be needed to connect materials with different chemical properties.
But these extra components can complicate recycling. Rivercyclon® challenges this approach.
By carefully controlling the heat applied to both the polypropylene (PP) base fabric and the PP coating, the materials are thermally bonded, allowing them to melt together and form a strong connection.

No additional adhesives. No incompatible bonding agents. Just polypropylene bonding with polypropylene.
This creates a durable, integrated mono-polymer construction without introducing additional materials that could complicate the recycling process.
Because sometimes, the strongest connection comes from keeping things simple.

What if the end of one product could become the beginning of another?
For outdoor, travel and sports brands, responsible material choices are becoming increasingly important.
But circularity requires more than simply choosing materials that perform well during their lifetime.
It means considering what happens afterwards.

Rivercyclon® is built around a mono-material polypropylene concept, named The Circular Fabrics Platform, designed to make the fabric fully mechanically recyclable.

Rather than becoming a complex combination of incompatible materials, the polypropylene-based fabric is designed to be mechanically processed into recycled raw material for new applications.

This creates opportunities to recover valuable resources and reduce the need for virgin raw materials in future production cycles.

Of course, circularity doesn't end with material design. Collection, sorting and recycling systems also play an important role in bringing materials back into use.

Think backpacks, travel luggage, sports bags and outdoor equipment. Products designed to last, using fabrics developed with their next life in mind.

Because waste shouldn't be the inevitable end of a product's journey.

What if this changed the way we design technical fabrics?
Innovation doesn't always mean adding more materials, more layers or more complexity.
Sometimes, the biggest breakthrough comes from simplifying the way things are made.

One polymer. Compatible components. No additional adhesives. Designed for mechanical recycling.
At Rivertex®, we believe the future of technical fabrics starts by questioning not only how materials perform, but also what happens when their first life is over.

Rivercyclon® is our answer. Make the Switch.
